Holy Week begins on Sunday, March 24 with Palm Sunday. We will gather in worship on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for the Triduum. Pastor will also have prerecorded evening videos available on YouTube and Facebook for Holy Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Triduum begins Thursday.

Triduum means “three days” and begins in somber repentance and reception of our Lord’s holy Supper on Maundy (Command) Thursday. The service continues on Good Friday where we will remember our Lord’s death in Tenebrae (darkness). On Saturday, the third day of Triduum, we will gather outside around a fire for the Vigil.

Readers are required for Triduum. One reader is required for Maundy Thursday, seven readers for Good Friday Tenebrae (these are short, easy readings), and seven readers for the Vigil (longer readings along with a prayer after each reading). Please contact Pastor via email or in church if you are able to read for one or more of these gatherings.

Acolytes are required for Friday and Saturday. A single acolyte is required to assist with extinguishing candles throughout the Tenebrae, and four acolytes are required to assist with lighting candles, carrying the paschal candle, and carrying the processional cross at the Vigil. Contact pastor if your son or daughter can acolyte.

I pray you are able to attend our Holy Week festivities and to join us on Easter Sunday (March 31) for either the Sunrise service at 7am or the Easter Day service at 9:30, with Easter Breakfast and a children’s event in between.
