St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is a congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, a confessional and Bible-based church body (“conservative”) which is over 175 years old. We follow the work of Dr. Martin Luther and the Lutheran Reformation of the 16th century. Luther, along with many other faithful reformers, returned the church to orthodoxy by embracing the biblical teachings of:
St. Paul’s is an “evangelical” church, meaning that we confess the “good news” of Christ, the Son of God, who died on the cross to forgive the sin of the whole world. This means we are the true catholic church since we are faithful to Jesus and His blessed teaching. St. Paul’s is also an “orthodox” church, meaning that we teach in accordance with the Apostles such as St. Paul, St. Peter, St. John, and the rest. We aim to never go beyond what is written, to keep human opinions and feelings out of our theology, and to trust that our Lord always knows what is best for us. Finally, St. Paul’s is a “sacramental” church. This means that we teach and practice the Biblical sacraments of Holy Baptism and the Lord’s Supper as taught by our Lord and the Apostles in Scripture. We boldly say that baptism saves and we faithfully confess that our Lord Christ’s true body and blood is really present in the bread and wine served from our altar. This is a mystery, but we confess it and believe it regardless.
We prayerfully hope you can join us for the Divine Service this Sunday at 9:00 AM, and that you’ll stick around for fellowship and coffee, and for our in depth Bible Study taught by our pastor, the Rev. Daniel Carlson. We also pray that you consider becoming a member of our congregation so that you can join us in all the blessings of heaven offered through God’s Word and Sacraments!
If you have a prayer request which you’d like included in our weekly prayers, or in our members’ private prayer, please include it here. If you would like an elder or the pastor to contact you about this prayer, just check the appropriate box.
Prayer request may be added at your request to the public prayer during the service but will be removed after two weeks, unless you specify otherwise in the request.
