Be consistent. Be honest. Say what you are, and be what you are, and be what you say you are. This is especially true in our public worship. Lutheran worship is about preserving and promoting the Means of Grace as the focus of our worship. - A post from the "Intrepid Lutherans" website of long past.
How you worship is a reflection of your theology -- what you believe. If you believe that God is a lover of sin, then your worship will reflect this belief. If you believe that Jesus is a 1960's hippie rock opera, then your worship will look like "Jesus Christ, Superstar." If you believe that God comes to us by His Word and Sacraments, then your worship will reflect your belief.
For confessional Lutherans, our worship centers around God's Word and Sacraments, the very means of grace which God gives us to bring us Christ and His salvation. It is only fitting that our worship forms reflect these most holy and precious gifts of God. Churches that have a low view of the means of grace will also have different form of worship. God bless them, but that's not who we are as confessional Lutherans. Inasmuch as you would never find a holiness church using Lutheran worship forms, you will not find other forms used in a confessional Lutheran church. We understand things differently and this means we worship differently.
The worship forms (liturgies) we use are based on the historic forms of the Christian church, dating back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries. Granted, many things have been added over the centuries, and other things removed, but the basic format it still the same. To study the basic form of the liturgy, click below.

There is just so much "Christian" music out there today. Is it all good? Is it all faithful to God's Word? Is it all worthy of a place in Christian worship? Click to learn and discern!
Is reverence a personal, subjective thing, or is there objectivity to it? Many today believe that reverence is a personal thing, between God and the individual, and that one man's reverence is another man's distraction. But is this true? ?
Our world is consumerist-driven and market-heavy. Even churches worry more about numbers, stats, profit and loss, and annual reports more than they do bringing Christ to sinners. So much so that they destroy sacred space for creature comforts, performance, technology, and substanceless style. We truly need a revival of sacred spaces which transcend the world and bring heaven into our midst!
