Sermon based on Romans 9:1-13

1. Paul lamented because of his kinsmen, the Israelites, and their unfaithfulness
2. They were unfaithful in two ways:
   • Legalism
   • Radicalism
3. As God’s beloved children who are together the one body of Christ — His holy Church, we must be careful not to succumb to the same unfaithfulness as Israel
   • Legalism
   • Radicalism
4. It is only by God’s grace through faith that we are saved, never by works. And as His saved and beloved children, we are called to live lives differently than the world.
