Main Theme: “Defend the faith with zeal because Jesus has died and risen and You belong to Him.”
- Peter teaches that it is good to suffer for the faith
- But we must always be prepared to defend the faith and the hope we have
- We must confess/defend the faith with meekness and fear so no one accuses us of false teaching
- Peter shows us how Jesus suffered and died for us
- His suffering means salvation for us and thus we need not fear the good
- We are covered in His life, death, and resurrection in baptism which saves us
- Our consciences are clear and good because of Jesus’ good.
- In Him, we are good, and in Him we can be bold to defend our hope and faith.
