Main Theme: “Defend the faith with zeal because Jesus has died and risen and You belong to Him.”

1. Peter teaches that it is good to suffer for the faith
   • But we must always be prepared to defend the faith and the hope we have
   • We must confess/defend the faith with meekness and fear so no one accuses us of false teaching
2. Peter shows us how Jesus suffered and died for us
   • His suffering means salvation for us and thus we need not fear the good
3. We are covered in His life, death, and resurrection in baptism which saves us
   • Our consciences are clear and good because of Jesus’ good.
   • In Him, we are good, and in Him we can be bold to defend our hope and faith.
