The church website is now up. The issue last week was with the hosting company and NOT our website. They suffered a DDoS (direct denial of service) attack which slows and stops access to servers. It does not create a security risk for any sensitive data on the website but is more of an inconvenience than anything. The DDoS attack is over, but the site has been moved to a new hosting company anyway, with better performance and less risk of DDoS attacks. Further, there is very little risk to our online giving platform, Tithe.ly, which is a 3rd party application, and used by thousands of churches throughout the USA, of data breach. You can be confident in your online giving that it is safe and secure. More and more people are using online services like Tithe.ly to make their offerings and the younger generations expect it. We will continue to use this service as long as it gains traction at St. Paul’s.
